Program
Shiloh M.B. Church No. 1 in Cairo is holding a Pack the Pew program at 6 p.m., Nov. 11. The guest speaker is the Rev. Harry “Ron” Mitchell Jr., pastor of St. Stephens M.B. Church in Cairo.
Meeting
A World Community Day celebration is at 6 p.m., Nov. 3 at Rebecca M.B. Church at 970 Hill Road. Sponsored by Church Women United, the theme is Kindling New Fires for Peace.
Food distribution
Centennial M.B. Church members will be distributing food boxes from 10 a.m. until they last on Saturday.
Service
Members of Willow Head Missionary Baptist Church are holding an appreciation brunch to honor church pastor, the Rev. William Brinson. The event is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, in the church fellowship hall.

Special weekend
St. Luke CME Church, 305 Chatham Drive, is holding a family and friends weekend. A fall festival kicks off events at 1 p.m. At the 10 a.m., worship service on Sunday, Dr. Valerie Tate Everett is the speaker. Fellowship follows the service.
Convocation
Restoration Tabernacle Ministries will be participating in Champion of Eagles Church Convocation Saturday and Sunday. At 9:30 a.m., Saturday is the apostic affirmation service of Dr. Manning at Royal Touch Events, 212 West St., Valdosta and following at 7 p.m., is a concert at VOV, 607 Griffin St., Valdosta. A Sunday morning service is at 10 also at VOV. There will not be a Sunday service at the Thomasville church.
Anniversary
Members of New Olive Grove M.B. Church, 418 Pine St., are celebrating their church anniversary at 7 p.m., Nov. 6-10. The event will conclude on Nov. 12 with 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. services.
Youth day
Second Presbyterian Church is holding a Youth Day service at 11 a.m., Sunday. The speaker is Minister Krystal L. Smith. A building fund program will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, at St. James P. B. Church. Elder William Showers is the guest speaker.

Aucilla M.B. Church will celebrate its mass choir’s seventh anniversary at 6 p.m., on Saturday.

Greater Bethlehem Midway CME Church is holding its annual Men’s Day at 3 p.m., Nov. 19. Willow Head Missionary Baptist Church is in charge of the services. A fellowship dinner follows.
Operation Christmas Child begins
During this project’s National Collection Week, Nov. 13-20, Thomasville residents will transform empty shoeboxes into gifts of hope filled with school supplies, hygiene items and fun toys. Operation Christmas Child will deliver these shoebox gifts to children affected by war, disease, disaster, poverty and famine. This year, the Valdosta area team hopes to contribute more than 14,970 shoebox gifts toward the 2017 global goal of reaching 12 million children.
Local collection sites are Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo and Victory Fellowship Church in Thomasville.
