THOMASVILLE — No arrest has been made in a reported Monday night shooting.
The incident is not related to the shooting a week ago of a Thomasville man by a drug agent, said Capt. Maurice Holmes, Thomasville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division commander.
“It was an isolated incident,” Holmes said, adding the argument that led to the shooting was “over a woman.”
Late Monday night, the boyfriend of the woman confronted the man she was with and shot him in the foot and hip, Holmes said.
The victim was transported to Archbold Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Holmes said Tuesday that according to information provided to him, the shooting victim is a patient at Archbold.
“It is an ongoing investigation,” the commander said.
On Tuesday, Aug. 15, the Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division was executing a search warrant at the 419 Magnolia St. home of Herbert Gilbert.
Gilbert’s vehicle collided with agents’ vehicles, and Gilbert was fatally shot by drug agent Josh Smith, who has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation by the Thomasville regional office of the Georgia Bureau of investigation
GBI findings will be turned over to the district attorney’s office for review.
