Delta Kappa Gamma chapter awards scholarships

Alpha Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, International, recently held its May meeting at Thomas University. At this meeting, President Lisa Gilligan presided over the initiation of two new members, Kathie Craven and Caitlin Muse, both Thomas County educators. Miriam Powell led the group in a remembrance ceremony for recently deceased member Opal Faulkner Lewis. The chapter also presented scholarships to two early career educators, Jenna John of Grady County and Korey Burton of Thomas County.
DKG is a professional honor society of key women educators in the United States, Canada, Europe, Latin America and Japan. Its mission is to promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. The local chapter, Alpha Delta, has members from Thomas and Grady counties and Thomasville City school systems, as well as Southern Regional Technical College and Thomas University.
