Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kimbrell of Reidsville, Georgia are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Jessica Elizabeth Kimbrell to Thomas Jeffrey Payne, the son of Carolyn Payne and the late Terry Payne of Cairo, Georgia. 

The future bride is the granddaughter of Retus Iddins and the late Twindle Sands Iddins of Reidsville, Georgia and Clara Crawford Kimbrell and the late R.O. Kimbrell of Mershon, Georgia.

She is a 2015 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Valdosta State University where she was a member of the Kappa Beta Chapter of Phi Mu Sorority. She is also a recent 2017 graduate of Valdosta State University where she received her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders. She will begin practicing in August as a speech-language pathologist, employed through the Fulton County School System.

The future groom is the grandson of J.N. and Betty Carter of Cairo, Georgia, and the late Eugene and Louise Payne of Tifton, Georgia. He was a 2009 graduate of Bainbridge College where he obtained an associate’s degree in science and mathematics. In 2014, he graduated from Valdosta State University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and special education.

He is currently employed with Layer 3 Communications, in Atlanta, Georgia as a network engineer.

The wedding is set for October 28, 2017, at The Patterson in Valdosta, Ga. Formal invitation to follow.
