MOULTRIE, Ga. — City and county officers investigating a tip on Friday arrested four men at a Southwest Moultrie residence, one after he jumped from the attic and ran.

Officers who converged on the 114 Fourth St. S.W. residence at 4:16 p.m. also seized nearly a half-pound of suspected marijuana.

“We received information about the house (and) sales of marijuana,” said Moultrie Police Department Sgt. Freddie Williams. “We went over, made contact with, initially, three individuals. A fourth hid in the attic.”

Based on their investigation officers with Moultrie police and the Colquitt County Drug Enforcement Team searched the residence.

Inside they found nearly seven ounces of suspected marijuana packed in small quantities for sale, said DET Sgt. Jerome Burgess.

While police were at the scene, the fourth suspect “fled from the attic and left on foot,” Williams said. Officers chased him down.

Arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute were: Moses Terry Barber, 23, who lives at the residence; Devorioun Hassan Debruce, 26, and Kenabion Ty’Shawn Debruce, 24, both of 521 Ninth St. S.W.; and Tabius Keshawn King, 27, 420 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Police also charged King, who is accused of trying to escape from police on foot, with obstruction of an officer.
