Blue Highway to perform Saturday

- Submitted photoThe five-member, award-winning Blue Highway writes their own songs and produces their own albums. The group will be in concert at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at the Thomasville Municipal Auditorium.
Traditional Bluegrass will be at its best as WTUF and Thomasville Main Street bring Another Night of Bluegrass featuring the Blue Highway on Saturday.
Three lead singers with rich harmony and featuring songs of forgotten homeless veterans, fallen heroes and heartbroken families, Blue Highway personifies modern acoustic music with respect for tradition.
According to their website, Blue Highway’s accolades also have sparkled over the past three years, with a sample including:
• Blue Highway’s IBMA Album and Song of the Year Nominee “The Game” was No. 1 for seven consecutive months on Bluegrass Unlimited Album Char.. June-December 2014.
• Tim Stafford was honored as 2014 IBMA Songwriter of the Year and 2015 SPBGMA Guitar Player of the Year. Shawn Lane was nominated as 2015 IBMA Songwriter of the Year, while Gaven Largent was nominated as 2016 SPBGMA Dobro Player of the Year.
• Blue Highway was voted the “Favorite Bluegrass Artist of All Time” by readers of Bluegrass Today, April 2016.
• Wayne Taylor was the 2016 Inductee into the Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame, October 2016.
• Blue Highway’s No. 1 album “Original Traditional” was nominated for a 2017 GRAMMY Award for Best Bluegrass Album.
Tickets are $10 each and are available in the Thomasville Visitors Center. All seats are reserved. The concert is at 7:30 p.m., at the Thomasville Municipal Auditorium and doors open at 6:30 p.m.
