• 10:30 a.m. — The South Georgia Genealogy Society will meet in the Flipper Room of the Thomas County Public Library. The business meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. The program is Have you hit a “brick wall” in your family history? The meeting is open to the public.

• The Magnolia High School Alumni Association members are holding their annual meeting and school reunion July 21-23. For information, call 226-7168.

• Thomas County Schools, in partnership with the Thomas County Public Library System, has implemented “Bee 4 the Classroom.” This program is designed for parents and children from birth to 3 years old or prior to entering a school setting. Staff members from the school system and the library will be available monthly from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at each of the county library branches to offer parenting tips for reading to young children, as well as provide food and play time for the little ones. • The Thomasville/Thomas County Homeless Coalition meets the third Thursday of each month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Thomasville Housing and Resource Center, 125 Lester St. For more information, call Sharon Edwards, (229) 289-0032.

• The American Cherokee Confederacy Inc., is accepting members with Indian heritage. You don’t have to be Cherokee to be accepted into the nation. For information, write to Principal Chief William Jackson, 619 Pine Cone Rd., Albany, Georgia 31705.

• The Thomas County Republican Party meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at noon at Granddaddy’s Barbecue on Smith Avenue.

• The Thomas County chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness meets the first and third Mondays each month, except for holidays, at 6 p.m. at the Housing and Resource Center, 125 Lester St., Thomasville. On the first Monday of each month, an educational session is held on mental health trends and developments. This meeting is open to families and individuals affected by mental illness. Light refreshments are served. After the speaker, a confidential family and friends support meeting is held for those 18 and older whose loved ones are affected by mental illness. • The Rose City Aeromodelers group has contracted with the City of Thomasville to supervise a model airport at the Thomasville Municipal Airport and a chartered club under the auspices of the Academy of Model Aeronautics.
