• 12:30 p.m. — Thomasville Kiwanis Club meets at the Plaza Restaurant.

Tuesday

• 6 p.m. — Overeaters Anonymous meets at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in the Guild Room. There are no dues or fees and is open to men and women. Everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively is welcome. For information, call 226-0556 or 221-1202.

Wednesday

• 11:45 a.m. — Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution are holding their monthly meeting at The Plaza Restaurant. Lunch is $13 and no reservations are needed. The program is DAR Chapter History Essay Winners. The student essays were on visiting a national park during the 100th anniversary of national park system.

Thursday

• 12:15 p.m. — The Thomasville Rotary Club meets at the Plaza.

• 5:45 p.m. — Early bird Bingo games, sponsored by the Kouncil Club of Thomasville, are at St. Augustine Catholic Church social hall. Regular Bingo sessions begin at 6:45. Prizes awarded and proceeds go to local charities of southwest Georgia.

Miscellaneous

• Archbold Medical Center President and CEO Perry Mustian is the featured speaker at the 2017 annual meeting of the Thomas County Historical Society on Jan. 29. Open to the public, the meeting features a brief business meeting followed by Mustian’s presentation on Archbold Medical Center’s long history and innumerable contributions to the Thomasville community. The program begins at 3 p.m. at the Thomas County Historical Society located at 725 N. Dawson Street. Admission is free and no reservations are required. • The South Georgia Genealogy Society will meet on Saturday, Jan. 21 in the Flipper Room at the Thomas County Public Library. The business meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. The program, Reflections of Thomasville: People, Places and Events — 1950s-1960s, follows at 11. Magistrate Court Judge S. Andrew Seery is the speaker.

• The Rotary Club of Thomasville is currently conducting its annual coat drive. The coats may be new or gently used. Club members will have the used coats cleaned and then give both the new and used coats to The Coat Closet at the Food Bank for distribution to people in need throughout Thomasville and Thomas County. If you know a Rotarian give him or her your coats to bring to a meeting this month. For pick-up call (229) 378-0938.

• Gentiva Hospice is sponsoring a bereavement support group on the first Thursday of each month at 10 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, 318 S. Broad St., in Cairo.
