TVille locals hit the gridiron in CFB Week 7

THOMASVILLE – It was a phenomenal weekend for Thomasville locals as they hit the gridiron across the nation for college football’s week seven.

Starting with the Bulldogs, several players got playing time, including Jimmy Dawson in Albany State’s loss to Miles College, Cole Shaw in Mercer’s 27-point win over Princeton, and Jay Randall in Union’s 21-0 win over St. Andrews. Kam Bradshaw and Logan Thomas also saw the field in Union’s shutout victory. Thomas had a single solo tackle, while Bradshaw went off for three solo tackles, eight total tackles, and .5 sacks. Ty Anderson saw the field on offense and defense as ETSU took on Samford. He had one rushing attempt, a solo tackle, and two total tackles in the Buccaneers’ 31-28 win over Samford.

The Yellow Jackets also made an impact in week seven. UPIKE dominated Kentucky Christian in a 66-24 win that saw Clayton Hutto and Caleb Anderson dominate as well. Hutto has two solo tackles and five total tackles in the game with a pass breakup. Anderson had the best game of his young collegiate career. He led the Bears’ defense in solo tackles, with six, and total tackles, with 10. Ty brown got the start at guard as number three ranked Valdosta State kept its unbeaten streak alive with a win over North Greenville. Malachi Thomas also saw the field as Pitt skated by Cal 17-15 to keep its undefeated record shining.

Brookwood’s TJ Thomas was back to his dominating ways as he led Elon in carries, with nine, and rushing yards, with 78, and recorded a touchdown on the ground. He also caught five passes for 57 yards as the Phoenix lost to New Hampshire 17-10.
