THOMASVILLE- The Scholars Academy of Thomasville High School is proud to announce that senior Rose Lehman has been honored as the 2024 PAGE STAR Student, and her math teacher, Elaina Johnson, has been recognized as the STAR Teacher.

The PAGE STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) program, a prestigious honor from the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE), celebrates the academic achievements of high school seniors across Georgia. To be selected as a STAR Student, Lehman met rigorous criteria, including earning the highest SAT score at her school on a single test date through November of her senior year, while also ranking among the top 10 percent of her class based on grade point average.

Lehman’s accomplishment is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence in academics. As a STAR Student, she has demonstrated the qualities that define success in both her education and her future endeavors.

In addition to Lehman’s recognition, Johnson, her math teacher, has been honored as the STAR Teacher for 2024. Johnson, who teaches a wide range of math courses, including Geometry, AP Calculus, and AP Statistics, was nominated for her outstanding teaching, guidance, and ability to inspire students. Her dedication to fostering academic excellence and her impact on Lehman’s success make her an exemplary figure in education.

“Being recognized as the STAR Student is such an honor, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support I’ve received from my family, teachers, and peers,” Lehman said. “I’m excited to continue my academic journey and to carry this achievement with me.”

Johnson shared her thoughts on receiving the STAR Teacher award saying, “I’m so proud of Rose and all that she has accomplished. Teaching is a rewarding experience, and seeing students like Rose achieve their goals makes it all the more meaningful. I’m honored to have been part of her journey.”

As part of the STAR program, Lehman will now compete at the regional level for further recognition, with the possibility of advancing to the state competition.

The Scholars Academy, along with Thomasville High School, congratulates both Lehman and Johnson for this well-deserved recognition and wishes them continued success in their academic and professional futures.
