James Freddick Hollis

Brother James Freddick Hollis was the first child born to Fred and Thelma Hollis on January 17, 1934. He attended Brooks County Schools in Quitman, Georgia. At a very early age, he joined Richland Missionary Baptist Church in Boston, Georgia. He traveled the county side as a long haul truck driver for many years. He was also a member of Mt. Vernon Lodge #204. James was bless with seven children, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grands. He transitioned from his earthly home on June 20, 2016 at Archbold Memorial Hospital, in Thomasville, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Thelma Hollis; brother, Freddie Hollis; and daughters, Phyllis St. Sarin and Gloria Hollis.

He leaves to mourn two daughters, Cheryl Magee of Atlanta, Georgia and Vanessa Gelin of Boston, Georgia; three sons, Carl Hollis of Atlanta, Georgia, Harry Hollis of Rockhill, South Carolina, and Gregory Hollis of Atlanta, Georgia; one sister, Trudell Borden of Whigham, Georgia; one brother, Williams Hollis of Boston, Georgia; one aunt, Eva Me Hollis of Delray Beach, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other sorrowing relatives and beloved friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. from the sanctuary of Richland Missionary Baptist Church in Boston, Georgia. Reverand Henry L. Mathis is officiating. Interment is to follow at the Boston Cemetery. Final rites were entrusted to Hatcher People’s Funeral Home. — Hatcher People’s Funeral Home
