THOMASVILLE – Bulldog teammates Jay Harrison and Kiff Parish will be playing together for at least another two years as both signed with Andrew College on Thursday afternoon.
“It means everything,” Harrison said about signing. “It’s been a dream since I was a little kid to be able to play after high school. Just getting that opportunity means a lot.”
“It means a lot,” said Parrish. “Just my whole baseball career coming down, seeing all that work kind of come to fruition right here, so it really means a lot to me.”
Both Parrish and Harrison have been outspoken leaders and extremely good on the field. Harrison is known as a solid pitcher who can do some damage with his bat, and Parrish has been solid in every facet of the game for Thomasville.
Now, the two will head to Cuthbert, Georgia where they will play baseball for Andrew College. Both players are looking forward to the grind and hard work that JUCO baseball is known for. They are also looking forward to playing together, something they have done since they were young.
“It’s kind of like something you would dream about, you know,” Parrish said. “You always dream about going somewhere with your friend and now it’s real.”
Andrew is in the midst of a good season, currently sitting at 28-19 overall with a 10-12 conference record.
As for Thomasville, the seniors recounted their time with the program as “amazing” and meaning “everything.”
“All the coaches are amazing. I’ve enjoyed every minute I’ve been out here, even the ups and downs,” Harrison said. “They just made me a better person, which is always the goal at Thomasville.”
“It means everything. Just growing up as a kid, always wanting to be a Bulldog,” Parrish said. “I just want to continue that legacy. I’m just very thankful for everything.”
