THOMASVILLE- Select band students from Thomas County Middle School recently showcased their talent at the South Georgia Region Honor Band Clinic, held at Valdosta State University.

Students earned their places in the prestigious event through a competitive two-round audition process, which challenged them in scales, etudes, and sight-reading. The clinic featured top-performing middle school musicians from Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) Districts 2, 8, and 11.

Under the direction of Dr. Albert Bussey, a respected conductor and educator from Waycross, Georgia, the young musicians spent the clinic refining their skills and preparing for a concert finale.

The event concluded with a public performance on April 12 at VSU’s Whitehead Auditorium, where students proudly shared the results of their hard work with family, friends, and community supporters.
