THOMASVILLE- Last Saturday, the City of Thomasville worked with more than 30 community partners to host their annual Easter Eggstravaganza at Weston Park.

The event, which is typically held at Paradise Park, brought about new and familiar faces, as some who could not previously attend were able to walk over this year.

Public Information Officer Ricky Zambrano said the event saw between 500-600 kids, families, and community members coming together to celebrate Easter.

“This is such a successful event because of the partners we have,” he said.

The partners provide donations for the Golden eggs, but also host booths for children to get their face painted, play games and enjoy food and drinks.

With over 5,000 eggs split up between different sections of the park for the various age groups, there was something for every kid.

Among those groups were 50 Golden eggs, containing gift certificates to Walmart, Visa gift cards, Downtown Dollars, prize-filled Easter baskets, and new books, all of which were donated by community partners.

Those partners included 1915 South| Ashley, Blue Bell Creameries, Clifton Temple CME, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Envision Credit Union, Flowers Foods, First Commerce Credit Union, Hands on Thomas County, Henderson’s, Heritage Foundation, Joppa Masonic Lodge, Marguerite Neel Williams Boys & Girls Club, Moonspin, New Hire Solutions, Nina’s Creamery, Pineland Baptist Church, The Salvation Army, Servpro of Thomas, Colquitt, and Grady Counties, Southern Self Storage, Thomas County Cares, Thomasville Church, Thomasville Public Library, Thomasville First Baptist Church, Thomasville Community Development Corporation, Thomasville Humane, Thomasville Fire Rescue, Thomasville Police Department, Thomasville YMCA, Vashti Center, Walmart, and Willow Head Missionary Baptist Church.

“A big thank you to all of our community partners, it was a beautiful day this year and we really appreciate the folks who came out and enjoyed this day with us,” he said.

Zambrano is already planning on next year, reminding families that the Eggstravaganza always takes place the Saturday before Easter weekend.

“I’ve unfortunately had some calls asking what time it’s going to be this Easter weekend, so I just want to go ahead and let people know next year we will be having the event March 28, 2026,” he said.
