SRTC student organizations attend Georgia Spring Leadership Conference

THOMASVILLE- Students from Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) showcased their exceptional skills at the Georgia Spring Leadership Conference in Atlanta on March 28-29. Members of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Collegiate and National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) chapters participated in leadership training workshops and competitive events, bringing home multiple awards.

SRTC’s FBLA Collegiate chapter representatives earned impressive results:

  • Wilson Petithomme of Moultrie: First place in Hospitality Management and third place in Public Speaking
  • Dolores Bradley of Tifton: First place in Impromptu Speaking
  • Kendrick Givens of Moultrie: Fourth place in Impromptu Speaking and second in Foundations of Entrepreneurship
  • Micaela Miley of Alapaha: Fourth place in Foundations of Communications
  • Mackenzie Easler of Ochlocknee: Second place in Retail Management
  • Renee Gray of Cairo: First place in Organizational Behavior and Management
  • Bradley, Gray, and Petithomme will advance to represent SRTC at the National FBLA Conference and Competition in Dallas this summer.

The NTHS chapter also achieved notable success:

  • Johanna Martinez-Camacho of Tifton: First place in Prepared Speech, recognized as an NTHS Outstanding Student, and elected as State Officer
  • SRTC: First place in the Books for Keeps Book Drive
  • SRTC’s FBLA Collegiate Advisor, Carol Peppers, was recognized for serving 20 years as an advisor and received the FBLA Distinguished Service Award.

“I was incredibly proud watching our students represent SRTC at the Georgia Spring Leadership Conference,” said SRTC-Bainbridge Campus Director KaCee Holt. “These events allow our advisors to network and learn while our students develop leadership skills, build professional confidence, and connect with peers across the state. Carol Peppers’ Distinguished Service Award highlights the exceptional faculty commitment that makes our student organizations thrive.”
