Georgia State Patrol and Grady County Sheriff’s Office arrest woman on drug charges

CAIRO- On the night of April 7, 2025, the Georgia State Patrol, in collaboration with the Grady County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 44-year-old Carla Gomez of Dacula, Georgia, on charges of possession of a controlled substance and driving while unlicensed.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., Gomez was pulled over for speeding on Highway 93 South in Grady County. During the stop, officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a quantity of marijuana and ecstasy pills.

Gomez was arrested and taken into custody, where she was booked into the Grady County Detention Center.

GCSO Sheriff Early Prince expressed his gratitude for the strong teamwork between the Georgia State Patrol and the Grady County Sheriff’s Office, which led to a successful arrest.
