TCMS teacher Layne Named GaDOE Ambassador

THOMASVILLE- Thomas County Middle School eighth-grade math teacher Stacie Layne successfully completed the 2024-2025 Ambassador’s Program, a rigorous professional development initiative designed to equip educators with the expertise needed to maximize the use of Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) platforms, data applications, and technical tools to enhance student performance.

As an Ambassador, Layne is now certified to redeliver training sessions on key educational platforms such as SLDS, GaConnects, GaDOE SuitCASE, and GaDOE Inspire. She can also collaborate with the local RESA Professional Learning Specialist to provide training, helping fellow educators leverage these tools for student success. Her achievement highlights her commitment to professional growth and her dedication to enhancing the learning experience at Thomas County Middle School.

“Completing the Ambassador Cohort Program with the Office of Technology Services has been an enriching and transformative experience,” Layne said. “This program has equipped me with valuable tools and knowledge to support my colleagues and enhance student learning. I am honored to have completed this training and look forward to applying these skills to positively impact my school community.”

Thomas County Middle School celebrates Layne’s accomplishment and looks forward to the positive impact she will continue to make through her expertise and leadership.

The Ambassador’s Program requires participants to engage in six mandatory live virtual sessions spanning from September to March, complete five Georgia Learns courses with a minimum score of 90%, actively contribute to discussions in the GaDOE Community, and share newly acquired knowledge with colleagues each month.
