THOMASVILLE- Thomasville City Schools is excited to announce the launch of Rooms, a new feature within the district’s mobile app designed to enhance and simplify communication between families and educators.
Keeping up with a child’s coursework and staying connected with teachers plays a vital role in student success. However, school communication can often feel fragmented. With the addition of Rooms, Thomasville City Schools is streamlining communication by offering two-way parent- teacher messaging, classroom announcements, and coursework reminders—all within the existing district app.
Transitioning from Remind to Rooms
Rooms will replace the third-party app Remind, providing a more integrated experience for families. The transition will begin with a slow rollout for the remainder of this school year, allowing families to familiarize themselves with the new platform. The district will fully transition to Rooms for the 2025-2026 school year.
What’s New with Rooms?
In addition to the app’s current features, such as live feed updates, school news, event calendars, and push notifications, Rooms will provide:
- Direct messaging with teachers, staff, and coaches
- Classroom announcements and coursework reminders
- Behavior tracking to celebrate student achievements
- Automatic translation to support multilingual families
- Seamless and Accessible Communication
With Rooms, parents no longer need multiple apps to stay informed. All essential school and district information will now be accessible in one convenient place, the Thomasville City Schools app, available for free in the Play Store and App Store.
Families will receive an email or text invitation to join Rooms in the coming weeks. The setup is simple: follow the provided link, create a login, and then access Rooms directly through the district app.
A Better Way to Stay Connected
“At Thomasville City Schools, we are always looking for ways to improve communication between families and our schools,” said Shannon Wolfrum, Director of Communication and Public Relations. “Rooms will provide a richer, simpler, and more effective way for parents to stay engaged with their child’s education.”
