THOMASVILLE – Brookwood Warrior basketball players Roscoe Jones and Walker Jackson received All-State honors after a phenomenal season.
Jackson, a senior, and Jones, a sophomore, helped Brookwood to a great season in 2025. They helped lead the Warriors to a 28-3 season with an undefeated region record on their way to a region championship and a state championship game appearance.
The Warriors classification allows for 12 spots on the All-State team. For Brookwood to get two is the big deal for the program and coach Nate VanDuyne.
“To have a sixth of the spots be in your school, I think that’s a pretty cool honor,” VanDuyne said. “I think you can even argue we could have had another one.”
Jackson left a massive footprint on Brookwood’s basketball program. After not seeing much floor time and a lack of contribution in his first two years on the team, Jackson exploded onto the court in his junior year. Over the course of his career he scored 951 points, is a two-time All-State player, two-time Player of the Year, and signed on to play DII basketball at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
“To have the career that he had. If you look at first half, second half, what a cool story,” VanDuyne said. “That’s a pretty cool thing.”
Jackson’s shoes will be difficult to fill, but if anyone could fill them it would be Roscoe Jones. The sophomore was unbelievable on the floor for the Warriors this past season. He scored double-digit points in the state championship game and was the reason the Warriors were still in the game at halftime. He’s an extremely versatile player and a relentless scorer.
“I really think with him we’re just starting to scratch the surface,” VanDuyne said about Jones. “He’s so skilled, he’s competitive, he can do everything. What a competitor, what a leader, what a great player to be able to build around for the next two years. I think this is just the beginning for him.”
