Cairo Police Department investigating armed robbery

CAIRO- On Friday March 21, 2025, around the lunch time hours Cairo Police Department Patrol Officers responded to Tienda Latina grocery Store, 193 3rd Street, in reference to an armed robbery. The victim told officers that a subject entered the store, pointed a handgun towards them, reached over the counter and took a large sum of money. The victim then told officers that the subject fled the scene in a white pickup truck.
Investigators with the Cairo Police Department arrived on scene and conducted interviews with the victim and collected videos from nearby security cameras on local businesses in the area. Investigators developed leads with the security camera footage and were able to identify the truck that fled the scene. Investigators were able to identify the registered owner of the pickup truck as Kenneth Gilley.
Investigators learned that Gilley’s pickup truck traveled to West Palm Beach, Florida on Friday afternoon after the robbery occurred. On Sunday, March 25th 2025, Gilley was arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office.
Investigators with the Cairo Police Department traveled to West Palm Beach, Florida on Monday March 24, 2025, to collect evidence from Gilley’s pickup truck.
