Cross Creek student wins first place in Fair Bear Writing Competition

THOMASVILLE- Cross Creek Elementary is celebrating a big writing achievement. Fourth-grader Wilder Howard has won first place in this year’s Georgia National Fair – Fair Bear Writing Competition. Howard’s winning entry will now advance to the RESA regional competition, where it will compete against other top fourth-grade entries from across the region.

Congratulations also go to Ava Mills, who placed second schoolwide, and Huxlie Stringer, who earned third place.

The Fair Bear Writing Competition is an annual contest open to Georgia students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. This year’s theme challenged students to write about Fair Bear working as a first responder. Entries were judged on content, writing conventions, style, and creativity.
