THOMASVILLE- Thomas County Schools recently announced their BEE (Business and Education Exchange) Partners of the Semester for the first half of the school year. Each school selects a BEE partner that has made a meaningful impact on students and staff through support, donations, or volunteer efforts.
Melanie Davis, Thomas County Schools Public Relations Director, emphasized the importance of these partnerships.
“We are fortunate to have so many local businesses and organizations working with us to support our students and staff,” Davis said. “These partnerships provide resources, volunteers, and opportunities that would not be possible otherwise. Their generosity—whether through monetary donations, time, or services—makes a real difference in our schools.”
Hand-In-Hand Primary School selected Walmart as its Partner of the Semester. The store has provided several donations this year, benefiting both students and teachers. Most recently, Walmart contributed spin brushes for the school nurse to distribute as needed.
Garrison-Pilcher Elementary recognized Big Oak Electrical Services for its generosity and commitment. The company donated $500 to support the school’s annual Christmas Give-A-Way raffle, which helps fund the Wee Bee Booster Club. Garrison-Pilcher Principal Robin Binion expressed appreciation for the company’s involvement.
“The generosity of Tony Garver, owner of Big Oak Electrical Services, has made a meaningful impact on our school community,” Binion said. “Even though this is our first year partnering, his willingness to contribute has been deeply appreciated. We look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come.”
Cross Creek Elementary named Old Towne Nutrition as its BEE Partner for the semester. The business has been a strong supporter of the school by participating in the Cross Creek Discount Card program, which helps fund the school’s booster club. Principal Ashley Lane highlighted the owners’ dedication.
“Brian and Renee Lassetter consistently go above and beyond for our teachers, rewarding them weekly and supporting school events,” Lane said. “Their generosity fosters a positive environment for our staff and students, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued support.”
Thomas County Middle School selected Thomasville National Bank for its contributions this semester. The bank not only provided financial support for student incentives but also hosted a parent night focused on financial literacy. The event included dinner and valuable budgeting information for families.
Thomas County Central High School recognized Check-Mate Industries for its involvement in the school’s Work-Based Learning program. The company has hired students and actively participated in the business/work-based learning advisory committee.
“They have been a tremendous asset by mentoring students and participating in career-related events,” said TCCHS Work-Based Learning Coordinator Brandi Miranda. “Their dedication to career and technical education has had a lasting impact on both student academics and work ethics.”
Bishop Hall Charter School honored Belk as its Partner of the Semester for making a difference in the lives of students and their families. Principal Jim Rehberg expressed appreciation for the store’s generosity, particularly during the holiday season.
“Belk donated gift cards and clothing for our Christmas gift bags, ensuring students had access to essential items and a few special holiday surprises,” Rehberg said. “Their kindness brought joy to our school community and reinforced the importance of giving back.”
Davis added that Thomas County Schools is always looking to expand its BEE partnerships.
“Our business partners do so much for us, and we are grateful for their support,” she said. “We welcome new partnerships and encourage businesses interested in joining our BEE initiative to reach out.”
