THOMASVILLE – The Lady Bulldogs basketball season came to an end on Tuesday night in a game you’d have to see to believe. Thomasville fell in the first round of the state playoffs 91-90 to Dodge County.

“The game was a pretty back-and-forth game. The young girls played good, the upperclassmen helped lead the way, but through it all the girls played hard,” said head coach Jeray Randall. “It was like everything that each team was drawing up was going in. It was just that time of the year where everyone has gotten better. This was a great match up.”

Everything was going in for Thomasville and Dodge County. The Lady Bulldogs had multiple double-digit scorers, including Harmony Bryant, who finished with 19 points, and Jaleah Brown, who totaled 18. Freshman Jayla Brooks led the team with 31 points.

Brooks started off shooting lights out. She knocked down four threes in the first quarter and totaled 14 of the Lady Bulldogs 19 first quarter points. The Lady Indians, however, were scorching from the field and score 25 in the opening frame.

Thomasville entered halftime down four, 43-39.

The Lady Bulldogs came storming out of halftime. They dropped 32 points in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Indians 32-18 and entered the fourth quarter with a ten point lead, 71-61.

Dodge fought their way back into the game, outscoring Thomasville 20-10 in the final frame and forcing overtime.

In OT, the game continued its legacy as a close, hard fought contest. The Lady Indians barely edged out Thomasville, 91-90, and will now face Heard County in round two.

“We had small successes throughout the year,” Randall said about the season as a whole. “Reaching that ultimate goal, I know that we are on the right road and the girls have bought into this system and the way that we coach and the things that we ask them to do.”

Thomasville finished the 2024-2025 season with an overall record of 15-13. They finished fourth in the region with a 6-6 region record. It’s a major improvement from last years 11-18 record.
