Central swim teams compete at region meet

THOMASVILLE – Thomas County Central’s boys and girls swimming teams competed in the Region 2-5A swim meet at Coffee on Tuesday. Central’s boys scored a third-place finish in the region, while the girls also placed in the competition, said Central swim coach Ashley Lanatta.
“We are incredibly proud of the swimmers’ success this season. The swimmers have worked hard all year, and their success at region is proof of that dedication,” Lanatta said.
Central’s relay team of Johnny Bradshaw, Nick Pierce, Cabe Parker and Lucas Miller finished third in the 200 freestyle relay. Pierce also stood out in individual races, swimming to first-place finishes in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
Bradshaw earned a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle and a first-place finish in the 100 backstroke.
Chavita Correa finished third in the 500 freestyle, while Lucas Miller earned a second-place finish in the same event.
Kayla Bruce finished first in the 100 fly and second in the 100 freestyle. Abby Love placed third in the 200 free, while teammate Celia Perry earned third in the 200 individual medley.
