The First Bank names new market president

THOMASVILLE- The First Bank has promoted Jamie Lawrence to market president for the Thomasville, Georgia area. He joined The First in January 2024 as a vice president and commercial loan officer, responsible for new loan production and deposit growth for the bank. Lawrence has been active within his community, representing The First in various civic organizations and leading several community development initiatives sponsored by the bank.
“Jamie has made a significant impact on our bank and does an outstanding job building relationships with our customers and delivering exceptional customer service that exceeds expectations,” said John Everett, division manager for The First’s South Georgia and Tallahassee, Florida markets. “He is customer-focused and community-oriented. I am confident that the Thomasville market will continue to grow and excel under Jamie’s leadership and expertise.”
Prior to joining The First, Lawrence worked in banking in Thomasville with previous experience in real estate development and heavy equipment sales. His banking experience includes commercial lending, coordinating sales and deposit growth initiatives, and retail market management.
Lawrence graduated from Georgia Southern University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in hospitality with a minor in finance and was named among the university’s 40 under 40 list of top graduates. He is a current member of the Thomasville Rotary Club, serves as finance chair for the Never Lost board benefiting the CASA network, and is a youth volunteer and finance board member for Thomasville First Methodist Church. Lawrence is also a past president of the Camilla Rotary Club and a former elected city council member for the City of Camilla.
