CAIRO- Law enforcement officers from the Grady County Sheriff’s Department and the Cairo Police Department successfully apprehended a dangerous felon who had been evading authorities for months on January, 4, 2025. The suspect, Justin Laderrick Mobley of Bainbridge, Georgia, was located in the early morning hours after intelligence was gathered indicating he had traveled into the county for an overnight stay, planning to leave the next day.
The agencies worked together to develop a tactical plan to arrest Mobley. Once it was confirmed that Mobley was inside a residence, law enforcement made entry and located him in a bedroom. Mobley actively resisted arrest, and deputies deployed a taser, successfully incapacitating him for a safe arrest.
Mobley is now facing multiple serious charges, including felony armed robbery, felony conspiracy to commit a crime, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony possession of a firearm/knife during the commission of a crime, and a warrant for probation violation.
Mobley had been on the run for several months, and the U.S. Marshals had been notified to assist in his capture. Sheriff Prince commended the officers for their teamwork, stating that Grady County will not tolerate criminals hiding out in the area to evade justice. “There will be consequences,” he added.
Sheriff Prince urges anyone with information about wanted persons or criminal activity to contact the Grady County Sheriff’s Department at (229) 377-5200. All tips will be kept confidential.
