THOMASVILLE – The Thomasville Lady Bulldogs notched their first win of the season with a one-point victory over Bainbridge. It was seniors Jaleah Brown and Rhaniya Wilson who led Thomasville to victory on the offensive end, combining for 28 points.
The scoring did not start out so prolific, however, as Thomasville put up just five points in the first quarter. The Lady Bulldogs would fight back in the second quarter, taking a 19-18 lead on a Rhaniya Wilson and one. Thomasville headed into halftime with a fight on their hands, up 22-19.
Thomasville jumped up 35-24 after Jaleah Brown put up seven points in the third quarter. Bainbridge attempted a comeback but fell just one point short as the Lady Bulldogs pulled out their first victory of the season.
Senior Jaleah Brown had an excellent night as she dropped a team-leading 17 points on 39% shooting and secured five steals in the game. She also nailed Thomasville’s only threes of the contest with two. Senior Rhaniya Wilson contributed 11 points to the Lady Bulldogs’ first win and led Thomasville with nine of their 31 rebounds.
Thomasville’s next contest will be against Cairo on Friday ahead of the Holiday Hoopfest tournament next week.
