THOMASVILLE- The Thomas County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Thomasville Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, and Boston Police Department arrested Devontae Moore on December 5, 2024, following a brief foot chase.
According to agents, they had received information Moore was located in the area of Fern Street with an outstanding arrest warrant and had drugs on his person.
When they arrived in the area, Moore had left the residence and traveled around the corner. Upon hearing agents were closing in on him, Moore took off running.
Fortunately, officers were stationed across the street and could pursue Moore. As Moore ran from the scene, he began throwing items out of the black book bag he was wearing. Agents began retrieving the evidence, following Moore’s trail, before he eventually slung off his backpack filled with plastic baggies of suspected Molly and a scale used to weigh the baggies.
After Moore threw off his backpack, agents lost sight of Moore. However, nearby residents informed them he had run across the road and was hiding behind a home.
Agents followed the tips but did not see Moore. They then deployed one of GSP’s K-9 units.
The dog tracked Moore to another road, where Moore was found hiding in the front yard under the house.
When he was found, Moore had a loaded pistol in his possession.
After securing all of the evidence, and loading up Moore for transport, agents counted 43 plastic baggies of suspected Molly, weighing approximately 9 grams.
Moore was charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substances with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and is being held at the Thomas County Jail.
