Lady Jackets softball receives All-Region honors

THOMASVILLE – After an 18-11 record and a 9-6 region record, Thomas County Central’s softball team was recognized for their excellence.
Lady Jacket’s ace pitcher Laney Mobley was excellent this year and consistent. Through 15 region games, Mobley pitched 95 innings and recorded 69 strikeouts. This and her nine region wins were enough to earn her Pitcher of the Year in Region 2-5A.
Catcher Gina Morabito and infielder Jaida Pinkins were named first-team All-Region. Morabito batted 341 in region contests and had a .509 on-base percentage. She also recorded 20 stolen bases and a fielding percentage of .986. Pinkins batted .404 and had a .491 OBP in region games. She had six stolen bases and a fielding percentage of .870.
Outfielder Kennedy Warren was named to the All-Region second team. She finished region play with a .302 batting average and a .392 OBP. She also drove in 19 RBIs.
