TVille local rack up wins in CFB week 8

THOMASVILLE – Thomasville and Thomas County locals were at it again in week eight of the college football season as multiple players led their teams to victory.

Starting with some former Yellow Jackets, Clayton Hutto and Caleb Anderson have made their presence known in Pikeville, Kentucky. In UPIKE’s 62-35 win over Union Commonwealth Hutto led the Bears in solo tackles with five, while Anderson secured three solo tackles and had a team-leading eight total tackles. Ricky Fulton got the start at running back in Peru State’s 28-21 win over William Penn and Ty Brown started at o-line for the number two ranked and undefeated Valdosta State Blazers in their 35-10 win over Mississippi College.

As for the Former Bulldogs, Jay Randall, Kim Bradshaw, and Logan Thomas all saw the field for Union. Randall had three carries for 19 yards and had a single punt return for 32 yards. He was especially good on kickoffs for the Bulldogs, returning nine kickoffs for a total of 150 yards. Bradshaw got the start at linebacker where he netted four solo tackles, seven total tackles, and two pass breakups. Thomas got the start at tackle.

Jimmy Dawson had two solo tackles and a sack for a loss of 10 in Albany State’s 52-6 win over Morehouse College and Cole Shaw saw the field in Mercer’s 55-35 loss to Samford.

Finally, former Brookwood Warriors TJ Thomas was phenomenal in Elon’s 30-14 win over Albany. The freshman had 19 carries for 138 yards and a rushing touchdown while leading the Phoenix in carries and yards on the ground. Thomas is having a fantastic rookie campaign with Elon. He already has 582 rushing yards this season along with five touchdowns. He is averaging 6.61 yards per carry and has also netted over 100 yards receiving with a receiving touchdown.
