THOMASVILLE — The Thomasville Bulldogs season came to an unfortunate end on Friday night in a 49-0 loss to Calvary Day in the second round of the state playoffs.

Thomasville had a successful season this year, though it did come with some bumps in the road. The Bulldogs finished 6-6 overall and 3-1 in region play. Though they did falter in all of their rivalry games, losing to Thomas County Central, Cairo and Bainbridge, Thomasville did pick up so big wins over Monroe, Columbus and Dougherty.

They showed a lot of toughness this season, bouncing back from tough losses and responding to a bad loss to Crisp County to end the regular season with a huge playoff win against Harlem, which they won in the final minute. That game against Harlem really defined the season for Thomasville. It was the culmination of all of the hard work and toughness they had shown throughout the season.

The Bulldogs may be losing their best receiver in Cole Shaw as he heads to Mercer after graduation, but the future does look bright. Quarterback Cam Hill will be heading into his junior year and really seemed to thrive at times this year. He finished with 17 touchdown passes on the season. Ant Anderson, who will be a senior next year, came into his own later in the season, playing very well and taking over the Harlem game, where he ran for 187 yards on nine carries for a pair of touchdowns.
