THOMASVILLE- In their final showing of the season, Brookwood’s Boys Cross Country Team showcased an exceptional performance pushing through the unforgivingly elevated course at First Presbyterian Day School of Macon, Ga. The Warriors held their own against stiff competition, finishing in the top ten as a team at the Boys’ GIAA-AAA State Championship, with a group average time of 20:28.
Freshman Wesley Warren led the way for the Warriors placing in the top 20, just three seconds shy of top ten, with an 18:10 final time.
Isaac Nunnally ‘24, Matthew Lauderdale ‘25, Owen Bodell ‘25, Mason Brunson ‘26, Brooks Clay ‘27 and Wesley Warren ‘27 made up the State roster for the Warriors. Their hard work and determination, going back to training over the summer and throughout the fall, led to a regular season full of PR performances, a second place finish at Region last weekend, and this top 10 finish at State. The future is bright for the Warrior Cross Country team, and this group of athletes have set the standard high.
Tiffany Nunnally, in her first season as head coach, expressed her admiration for the team, stating, “I’m so proud of this team and the effort they have put in this season. They each gave their best at the State meet, and it was clear they held nothing back. As a coach I couldn’t ask for more than that!”
