TU Night Hawks drop SUN Conference opener

THOMASVILLE — Thomas University took the loss in its first football game in the SUN Conference. The Night Hawks faced number seven ranked Keiser in West Palm Beach, Florida where their offense struggled to move the ball.
It was a rough day all-around for TU. Quarterbacks Charles Britt and Chris Carter both got a chance in the game, attempting ten passes a piece. However, they only completed nine passes combined for just 116 yards and took a combined six sacks. Carter found success with a touchdown pass to game leading receiver Tremal Hall. Though Carter also threw an interception.

The Night Hawks didn’t fair much better on the ground as eight different rushers combined for 39 attempts and just 53 yards. The Night Hawks defense had a rough day as well, giving up 175 passing yards and a touchdown. But, it was Keiser’s run game that ruled the day. The Seahawks rushed for a combined 253 yards and five touchdowns.
The Night Hawks fell 44-12 to number seven Keiser and moved to 0-3 on the season as they continue to search for their first official win. TU will be back in Thomasville next week as they take on Ave Maria University. The Gyrenes are 2-2 on the season and 0-1 in the SUN, coming off of a conference loss to Florida Memorial.
