THOMASVILLE- Ryan Bradburn, candidate for the Thomasville City School Board At Large Seat, is hosting a listening event exclusively for educators and educator support staff employed by Thomasville City Schools (TCS). The listening session will be Thursday, October 5th at 4:30 p.m. in the Thomas County Public Library’s Flipper Room, and all those working in the TCS school system are invited to join.

Bradburn’s primary goal for the event is to listen to the teachers and staff, and glean insight from their collective experiences.

“In the previous two school years, our school system lost 143 city school staffers (121 resignations and 22 retirees),” Bradburn stated. “This massive loss of talent is devastating to me when considering the negative impacts it has on our students, remaining employees, and the city of Thomasville itself.”

Taking the time to listen to teacher needs and concerns is a priority for Bradburn, and if elected, he wants to create an environment where they are respected and treated with dignity.

“I want to listen to them and thank them — I have 4 kids in their classrooms and I recognize their outsize impact,” he said. “If elected, I will take every step I can to support our educators. We need to retain and attract great talent. Losing talent is a loss for us all, and we will do better. I want to be part of a Board that actively makes it better, because to me, teachers deserve the best.”
