THOMASVILLE — The Thomas County Central softball team defeated Tift County for their third win in a row on a gloomy Tuesday evening. This has been an up and down season for the Lady Jackets. At one point they went on a stretch that saw them lose six of nine games. But recently, the Lady Jackets have turned things around and after Tuesday’s contest, Central has a winning record overall and in the region.
It was a hard fought 7-3 victory for the Lady Jackets. Laney Mobley took the mound for Central and pitched a complete game. She allowed eight hits, but the defense was strong behind her and only allowed two runs. Mobley also finished the game with five strike outs.
