It is a critical time for Central, but head coach Robyn Trammell has confidence in her girls as they near the stretch run of the regular season.
“I’m excited to see what the girls do. I just hope that they play up to their potential. That’s all we can hope for,” Trammell said.
Central certainly reached its potential in demolishing Northside-WR 17-2 and 15-0 last week. The Lady Jackets combined for 25 hits in the sweep, led by Sarah Stewart’s six hits and five RBIs in the two games. Jaida Pinkins drove home four runs in the first game, while Allison Baston had two hits and four RBIs in the nightcap.
Gina Morabito contributed three hits and two runs in the first game. Morabito, along with Kennedy Warren, Aly Morabito and Laney Mobley each tallied two hits in the second game.
“Those games are always fun, but they can also be challenging. The girls did a really good job. It was almost like every player on the team contributed somehow to both of those wins,” Trammell said. “Those are fun games where all the girls can relax and enjoy each other and have good games.”
Mobley started on the mound and notched wins in both games, allowing just two earned runs and five hits with seven strikeouts in six innings in the twinbill.

Central has now won four of its last five games heading into the final three weeks of the season.
“The girls are playing really well. It’s definitely been a growing process each game, watching the young kids play up and get comfortable and the older kids leading,” Trammell said. “It’s been good so far. We’re just trying to get better every game.
“We’ve got some young girls, and they’re just trying to get comfortable and really just learn how to gain their confidence. They definitely work hard enough and have the skills. It’s just them realizing all that they’re capable of doing.”
