CAIRO- The Atlanta Braves commemorated Jackie Robinson Day at Truist Park on April 21 as the team took on the Houston Astros. In honor of that day, the Braves hosted the Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club members from the birthplace of his namesake in Cairo, Georgia. JRBGC Director Stephen Francis recently received a $14,004 check from the $28,007 worth of proceeds from the April 21 Atlanta Braves Foundation 50/50 Raffle that benefitted the Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club. “The Braves make us feel so special in their continued support of our club and our children. It is such an honor and a privilege to have these opportunities to represent our Grady County community on the national stage,” said Francis. “We would like to thank all the attendees that were in the crowd that showed their support for the JRBGC by purchasing raffle tickets for the 50/50 raffle that night. A special thanks to the Braves Organization that includes Danielle Bedasse, the Vice-President of Community Affairs and Executive Director of the Atlanta Braves Foundation for their continued love, support and appreciation to the JRBGC.”
