City of Coolidge swears in Interim City Clerk

COOLIDGE- The City of Coolidge swore in a new Interim City Clerk during the regularly scheduled council meeting on August 8, 2023. Meritta Patillo will assume the duties of City Clerk.
City Clerks are an integral part of the city government, acting as a liaison between the city council and the public by conducting tasks such as overseeing tax revenue collection, taking permit and zoning requests, working with auditors, and preparing official reports and records.

Mayor Diane Causey praised Patillo’s work with the city.
“She is a valuable asset to the citizens of Coolidge and I am glad to have her serving in this important role,” said Causey.
Patillo has worked as an assistant city clerk in Coolidge for approximately three years. She served under former city clerk Lisa Sheffield, who served as city clerk for five years.
Patillo comes to Coolidge with over 25 years of city government accounting and payroll experience in Moultrie. She is a native of Moultrie. She has one daughter and one son and loves spending time with her family and friends in her free time.
Patillo is excited to take on this new role. She looks forward to serving the citizens of Coolidge and working with the city council to see significant progress in Coolidge.
