THOMASVILLE- WFSU Public Broadcasting plans to broadcast a recording of one of Thomasville Entertainment Foundation’s concerts from the 2022-23 season.

On Saturday, July 22, WFSQ-FM and WFSL-FM, the classical music stations of WFSU, will air the February 28, 2023, concert by the Boston-based string orchestra, A Far Cry. The broadcast is set for 8:00 p.m.

WFSQ airs at 91.5 on the FM dial, while WFSL, the Thomasville-based classical music station, occupies FM 90.7. Live streaming of both stations is available through https://wfsu.org/listen/.

The TEF concert includes contemporary works by Osvaldo Golijob, Jessie Montgomery and Juantio Becenti, along with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece Serenade for Strings in C major.

“We appreciate so much this effort by WFSU, our public radio partner,” said Rick Ivey, Thomasville Entertainment Foundation’s executive and artistic director. “Not only does the broadcast give wider public access to a superb performance by this Grammy-nominated string orchestra, but many of our patrons who attended the February performance also enjoy another chance to enjoy great music.”
