UDC holds memorial for deceased Real Daughter

THOMASVILLE — John B. Gordon chapter 383 UDC held a special Memorial Service for Reba Bishop Scott. She was a Real Daughter in the UDC because her father John Bishop actually fought in the War Between the States. He was a Private in CO.F. 1st Regiment (Hagood’s), GA, C.S.A. Both of her parents died when she was very young. She lived in Screven County, Ga. until moving to Savannah, Ga. at the beginning of World War II. She later moved to Sandersonville ,Ga. where she lived most of her life.
She was a member of the Plains Chapter UDC and her daughter was President of the chapter. She was born May 26, 1924. She had been in declining health, and passed away March 31, 2023 at the age of 98. The UDC chapter enjoyed receiving “Thank You” notes when the chapter sent her cards and gifts on special holidays.
