THE SWEETEST SPOT IN TOWN: Heather and Kelly Abbott cut the ribbon on their new venture, while surround by friends, family and community members.

THOMASVILLE — On Friday, April 14 at 3:30 p.m., the teams of Imagine Thomasville and Thomasville Main Street were on-hand to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery at 127 North Broad Street in downtown Thomasville. New owners, Kelly and Heather Abbott, purchased the business earlier in January 2023. This sweet spot (pun intended) specializes in cupcakes, cake pops, parfaits, homemade ice cream, milk shakes and much more.

“I had the pleasure of attending a most delicious ribbon cutting for Smallcakes,” Mayor Jay Flowers said. “They are much more than a small cake shop: they are a family-owned small business serving a variety of sweet treats – including those for our furry friends.”

The Smallcakes team offered samples of homemade ice cream. A flavor debate ensued among guests with a tie between peach and red velvet. Guests also enjoyed specially crafted rose flavored cupcakes just in time for the city’s annual Rose Show.

“We want to thank our patrons for their support. Our creative team is excited to provide the community with fresh, small, batched cakes and an ever-changing monthly fun flavor board. We look forward to making life a little bit sweeter in Thomasville,” owner Heather Abbott said.

The business open is Monday — Thursday from 10 a.m. — 5:30 p.m. and Friday – Saturday from 10 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. For more information, call 229-233-8180.
