Beauty and the Beast

The Cairo High School Stagemakers will be presenting Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’, the Broadway musical, this weekend at the Cairo High School auditorium. Performances will be held on Friday, April 21 at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 22 at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 23 at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale at onthestage.tickets.

Belmount Holiness Church to Host Benefit Program for Deacon

The Belmount Holiness Church in Reno will be hosting a benefit program for Deacon Alphonso Williams, Sr. on Sunday, May 21 at 3 p.m. Deacon Williams has worked faithfully with many churches in this area. Pine Level Baptist To Have Wild Game Supper

Pine Level Baptist Church Brotherhood will be having a Wild Game Supper on April 22 at 6 p.m. The guest speaker during the event will be Davis Ellis. Cairo Mainstreet to Sponsor Q&A on Rural Zone Tax Credits

Cairo Main Street and Downtown Development Authority will be sponsoring an online Q&A event on Rural Zone Tax Credits for job creation, building acquisition and building rehabilitation on April 27 from 3-4 p.m. The guest speaker will be Cherie Bennet from the GA Department of Community Affairs. Grady County Schools Seeking Bus Drivers

The Grady County Schools Transportation Department is currently seeking bus drivers. These are part time jobs with responsibilities in the mornings and afternoons. All employees will be provided the necessary training to obtain a CDL and insurance benefits. You must have a high school diploma, love children and be able to drive both mornings before school and afternoons after school. If interested, contact Adrienne Cruel at 377-2124.

Senior Exercise Class Meets at the Library

There is a free Seniors Exercise Class that now meets at the Roddenbery Memorial Library on Mondays at 9 a.m. in the Grady Room. All area seniors are invited to attend.

Annual Women in the Workforce Luncheon to Be Held April 26

The Annual Women in the Workforce Luncheon, sponsored by First National Bank, will be held at Davis Park on April 26 from 12-1 p.m. The guest speaker for this year’s event will be Vera Stewart, a female entrepreneur from Augusta, Georgia who made her start catering and operating a café/bakery and was then offered her own Cooking & Lifestyle show in 2011 after winning Throwdown with Bobby Flay. In addition, there will be a panel of local women sharing their success stories and advice during the luncheon. Tickets are $20 and are available at the First National Bank.

Library Unveils New Self-Checkout System

The Roddenbery Memorial Library has introduced a new self-checkout machine located in front of the circulation desk. Patrons of the library can check out and renew their items and view their accounts using the new system with or without assistance from the library staff. Everyone is invited to come by and try it.

New Depression and Bipolar Support Group Forming in Grady County

Heart to Heart Ministry, a new bipolar and depression support group is now meeting at the Tama Community Church at the Tama Tribal Town Reservation, 104 Long Pine Drive in Whigham (off Collins Road), each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The support group is free and all are welcome.
