Wyche apprehended after TPD receives tip on whereabouts

THOMASVILLE- Landarious Wyche has been arrested after eluding the Thomasville Police Department during a pursuit on Monday, March 20, 2023.
According to a report issued by TPD, Wyche was driving on Jones Street, when he was witnessed by an officer not wearing his seatbelt. The officer began to turn around and attempt to make a traffic stop, but before he could get the patrol car turned around, Wyche sped off at a high rate of speed, creating two to three city block distances from the officer’s vehicle.
Wyche continued to flee in the vehicle while running two stop signs.
He then entered the 400 block of Jones Street, where several small children were present. At that time, Wyche lost control of his vehicle, exited the roadway, crashed through several front yards, before crashing through the front portion of a residence. The vehicle then rolled before coming to a final stop in the next door neighbor’s yard.
Wyche fled the scene, before the officer was able to catch up and arrive on the scene of the wreck.
TPD posted the incident on Crime Watch and requested in the public’s help, as Wyche was wanted for felony fleeing and attempting to elude, felony criminal damage to property, 3 counts of reckless conduct, 2 counts of cruelty to children, reckless driving, driving too fast for conditions, failure to maintain lane, leaving the scene of an accident, 2 counts of failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to wear a seatbelt.
On April 3, 2023, Wyche was finally apprehended after an undisclosed family member informed the TPD of his location.
CID Commander Toby Knifer said Wyche did not reveal why he fled the scene, but it is still an active investigation.
