Polar Plunge raises more than $8,000 for non-profits

The Polar Plunge fundraiser raised over $8,000 for local non-profits and for swim lessons.  Hands on Thomas County won first place raising $2,275, with Special Olympics in second with $2,120.  The first place finisher was awarded 100% of the money they raised and the rest of the non-profits received 50%. Hands on Thomas County donated 25% of their winnings back to the YMCA to use for swim lessons. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes also donated the money they raised back for swim lessons. Non-profits who participated in the event where, Hands on Thomas County, Special Olympics, Scott Senior Center, Thomas Grady Service Center, Thomasville YCA, Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society, Hands & Hearts for Horse, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
