THOMASVILLE- Following a five-month long investigation, Thomas County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit has arrested three men on several drug offenses.
Per the Vice/Narcotics Unit, Travis Adams, a Grady County resident, had been trafficking cocaine and selling marijuana out of his business, Gordon’s Automotive.
Vice agents had been performing controlled buys from Adams for nearly five months, until they had enough probable cause to execute a search warrant.
On Tuesday, December 20, agents executed a warrant, locating 2 kilograms of cocaine, cash, scales, marijuana and multiple cellphones.
During the search, Adams escaped out the back door of the Automotive Shop. However, agents apprehended him on Stevens Street.
During the search, agents also located Augustus Wilson, who was reportedly living in the Automotive Shop and William Randolph Brickey, who was a customer of both the Automotive Shop and Adams.
All three men were charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking in cocaine within 1,000 feet of a park and trafficking cocaine within 1,000 feet of a housing authority or projects.
Vice agents explained that there is a misconception in the word trafficking. The men did not bring the cocaine over state lines; they did have over 28 grams on their person, resulting in a trafficking offense.
They were additionally charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a park and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a housing authority or projects.
Adams also faces charges of obstruction of an officer.
The case is still an ongoing investigation, according to vice agents.
