“Thursday night was a great kickoff for our much loved Victorian Christmas celebration,” she said. “Steady crowds, plenty of food, and welcoming merchants added to the magic of the night.”

With live music on every corner, Owens said that they moved St. Nick to the Ritz Amphitheater hoping to spread out event area and aid in crowd control.

“This year, we moved St Nick to The Ritz Amphitheater stage to spread out the event area and assist with better crowd control,” Owens said. “Visitors also loved the new location for the live nativity, hosted by First Baptist Church.”

She added that the two changes had been received well by the attendees on Thursday and that they lent to an improved walking experience.

“These two changes helped to create more room on the streets for an enjoyable walking experience and have been well received by the community,” Owens said.

The event also included live blacksmithing shows, horse drawn carriage rides and an opportunity for the whole family to take a picture on Santa’s sleigh, reindeer included.
