- Kids of all ages wore their Halloween costumes and went trick or treating at the Downtown merchants storefronts on Saturday.
THOMASVILLE- It was a spooky Saturday night in Downtown Thomasville, as local merchants got in the Halloween spirit and passed out candy.
Kids in costumes began filling the streets at 3 p.m., when Downtown merchants sat at their storefronts and interacted with families and children, while allowing them to “trick or treat” at the shops.
At the conclusion of trick or treating, kids and families were invited to the Ritz Amphitheater for a Halloween movie night, where the Downtown Mainstreet Association was screening Hocus Pocus.
According to Tourism and Events Manager, Madison Eaton, the Office of Downtown and Tourism Development has received great feedback in regard to the movie and saw approximately 200-300 people in attendance.
“It was a great turnout for such a busy day, with kids trick or treating and the Georgia/Florida game, so we were really excited about that,” Eaton said.
Eaton explained that the movie is part of a goal that Downtown Thomasville has to attract more families.
The next seasonal movie families can look forward to will be The Santa Clause on Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
Eaton said those in attendance should remember to bring their own chairs and blankets to stay warm at the event.
