Thomasville City Schools began school on Aug. 8 with an anticipated enrollment of 2,886 students, according to Superintendent Raymond Bryant.
“This is an increase in student enrollment from the 2021-2022 school year. All schools returned with excitement, enthusiasm, and eagerness for the 2022-23 school year,” Bryant said.
A warm welcome, Bryant said, was given to all the new students as reacclimation to the academic environment began.
“Principals, teachers, faculty, and staff greeted students and began reacclimating them to the expectations of returning to school at Harper, Jerger, Scott, MacIntyre Park Middle and Thomasville High.”
Bryant added that the entire school system was excited about the new school year and the opportunity for improvement.
“We are excited about this school year and the opportunity to improve instructional practices that will lead to higher levels of student achievement,” he said, “while also implementing more systemic and pervasive safety and security practices.”
