Fireworks on Saturday night

The annual Independence Day Fireworks Show will be back this year in Cairo after being canceled in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic. This year’s show will return this Saturday night, July 2 instead of on the Fourth of July due to scheduling and labor issues with the fireworks companies. The fireworks show will start at 9:30 p.m. and will be launched from behind the old Roddenbery’s plant next to West Thomas Stadium and everyone is asked to please stay away from this area. West Thomas Stadium will be open for public viewing of the show, however temporary lighting will be used because of installation of new lights being installed at the field.
