South Georgia’s dance champions have once again showed their superb skill and stage presence. earning them an invitation to take the stage at the Inspire National Invitational held this year in Savannah.

FIRM Dance Company, located in Cairo and under the leadership of owner Dana Prince Willis, competed earlier this year against 30 studios from Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. These athletes, ranging from 5 to 18 years old, performed in musical theatre, hip-hop, contemporary, jazz dance and more.

Demonstrating variety in their ability to command the stage, their diversity ranged from solos to full company show stopping performances. 19 FIRM Dance Company group numbers and several solos and duos have been invited to compete against dozens of other top studios from across the South..

More than just a dance competition, Inspire National Invitationals gives our community’s champions the opportunity to participate in master classes taught by leaders in the industry.

Additionally, four FIRM students received an “All Stars” invitation to participate in master choreography classes taught by world class instructors and perform in the kickoff number at the opening gala. It is not just competition for which OBCDA/FIRM Dance Studio is known.

The South Georgia community can see evidence of these athletic performers’ showmanship and superb technique on June 17 and 18 at Cairo High School, where they will present “Once Upon a Dream”, an original adaptation of the top showing film Maleficent.

Sara Pearce, invited to be a University of Georgia Georgette, is featured in the lead role.
